Sunken Blue Bowl (1200-1047)
by Currey
The Sunken Blue Bowl is a decorative accessory made of dark clay ceramic ornamented with sea life flowing up from its bottom. The piece is thrown and carved before the dark blue reactive glaze is applied, a lighter blue falling glaze accentuating the tops of the ornamentations to make each vessel unique. The Sunken Blue Bowl is also glazed on the interior but it is not watertight so it requires a liner for floral arrangements.
